Weekend 004

Friday: Finished work early and picked up the little bro from school (much to his embarrassment) then headed off to a retail park to do a spot of shopping (my 12 yr old bro is becoming quite a good little shopping companion)-unfortunately,none of it was for me. Then headed back home to wait for Daddy to arrive home from his working week and to see how he was after a pretty crap week for him.

Saturday: Nipped in to my local town to pick up a few bits (including the M&S shoes featured in my latest post) then back home to watch qualifying (I'm a bit F1 fan and on race weekends, my plans usually revolve around that). Off to the parents house for take-away to celebrate Daddy's birthday and give him his presents (I bought him a gliding experience-he's always wanted to do it and figured for his 50th, why not?).

Sunday: Race day! I was a real housewife today and made the most of the weather that seemed to appear from nowhere and put a million loads of washing on and cleaned the house from top to bottom! Then settled down with a scrumptious roast dinner, glass of wine and Xfatcor!

How was your weekend?

Shoes

Over the last week, I seem to have acquired some new footwear and I thought I’d share with all you lovely people J

I am most definitely a flat shoe kinda gal’-I hardly ever wear heels (even on a night out *prepares for gasps of horror*. I mentioned in one of my earlier posts that I had quite a bad ski accident in 2007that damaged my knee and left me in physio for over 3yrs, and as a result, I wasn’t allowed to wear heels so have become very accustomed to my flats. Anyway, I ramble...I popped in to my local Matalan today for a mooch and saw these and thought: “Why not add ANOTHER pair of flats to the collection?”

Matalan - £10

After watching one of Claire’s latest vids, I decided that I too had to have these boots. They are not my usual style-I’m quite boring in my style so I’m a little nervous about wearing these, I really don’t feel cool enough to be wearing them, but I had some vouchers for River Island and thought, why not?

If you follow me on twitter, you may already know that on Monday last week, my Nannie (my great Nan), at the wonderful age of 96 passed away. It came as a complete shock to us all, but she had a great innings and really made the most of her life. Anyway, this has left me needing a new pair of black shoes to wear to her funeral as my current black shoes are a mess and really need chucking if I’m honest. So yesterday, I headed off in to town to have a search and found these lovely patent mary janes in Marks & Spencer of all places. I never usually shop in here but I was walking through to get into the shopping centre and these caught my eye. I love the cut out detail on them!

And finally, a pair of slippersJ. When at home, I live in lounge wear-a lot of my friends joke that if I could, I’d go to work in it too (the sad thing is, it’s not joke, I really would). Anyway, my evening attire also consists of slippers and I have many many pairs, however decided that I needed more so off I trotted to Next and found these beauties-they’re so warm and fluffy inside.

Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend and have a great week to come J

Weekend 003

Thursday: My weekend started on a thursday for me this week and what a busy Thursday it was. I started the day by collecting 160 cupcakes from my Auntie's and heading off down south on a 3 1/2 journey-I'm sure I don't need to tell you how petrified I was of ruining any of them as they were my besties wedding cake, but thankfully, the all arrived in one piece and looked FAB! The rest of the day was spent finishing decorating the marquee for the reception then off for rehearsal! We finished the evening with a small gathering at the house then off to bed early!

Friday: me and my bestie woke up very early, like 2 little kids on Xmas morning-couldn't wait for the wedding to arrive but before that we had a very busy morning if transporting cars to different venues, setting up the cake (see above), hair, make-up & then we could get dressed! After lots of photo's and many tears from me, it was time to head to the Church! It was a beautiful ceremony and an even better reception :-) I was very lucky to be given a  pearl necklace for fulfilling my duties as chief bridesmaid which I absolutely adore! We finished a perfect day with lots and lots of dancing and a few drinks here and there ;-)

Saturday: After waking up feeling a little worse for wear, we headed to pick up our cars from the marquee the off to McDonalds to eat the whole of the pound saver menu (it was one of those mornings)! It was then back to the house to join the Bride & Groom to open present then PARTY time-the wedding was actually the grooms 30th birthday so we celebrated today! I then said my goodbye's and made the journey back home before I literally fell asleep!

Sunday: Today has definitely been a rest day-as I write this post at 6:30pm I am still in my pj's :-) all there is left to do today is wait for my Indian takeaway to arrive and settle in for X factor!

How has your weekend been?

P.S. I will have a separate post with some piccies from the wedding if you want :-)

Weekend 002

Friday: I was supposed to be having a girls night out tonight but unfortunately my friend was feeling poorly and took a rain check. And so I found myself with nothing to do so I trotted off to Sainsbury’s to cheer myself up in the form of Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie. I settled down for the evening with my new best friend and a spoon and watched a film with the boyfriend.

Saturday: Today was very much a day about me J (my favourite kind)! I will be chief bridesmaid next Friday for one of my besties (squeal) so today I spent the day at the hair dressers having my hair highlighted (goodbye roots for a little while) and a spray tan. Back home trying not to move feeling all sticky from the fake tan I settled in to watch the X factor-I love this time of year when Strictly Come Dancing and Xfactor can fulfil my Saturday nights!

Sunday: The day of rest-and how true this in! Today I’ve had a lovely lie-in then headed back home to my little village to celebrate my friend’s birthday with her-I love birthdays, even if they aren’t mine! I then spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on my sofa watching the Grand Prix and trying to get 3 stars on all my completed levels on Angry Birds hehe

How was your weekend? I can’t wait for next weekend as I will be spending it with my BEST friends watching one of them walk down the isle (as well as myself as I will be the Chief Bridesmaid-soooo excited)!

Weekend 001

Inspiration for this post has been taken from the lovely Daisy-I’m a really nosey person and have enjoyed reading her last 2 posts about her weekends (and I refuse to believe that I am the only nosey person out there) so thought I may do the same.

Picture taken by Moi drawn by the Red Arrows

Friday:
Had a very long day hosting a training event in work (who plans an event on a Friday??-it wasn’t me) then back home to finish painting my dressing room and put the room back together before heading off to the airport to pick up the BF after a long week alone.

Saturday:
Off to do a much needed food shop (hasn’t been done in a while) then down to see the parental. The bf then cooked a gorgeous Caesar salad a la Jamie Oliver before settling down with a glass of wine (or 2 or 3) to watch X factor.

Sunday:
Out on my own to do a little retail therapy at a local retail park then back home for the BF take on Zizzi’s strozzapreti pesto rosso which was delicious and a homemade chocolate cheesecake! He’s definitely a keeper just on his skills in the kitchen J

So...not the most interesting weekend but it was very nice to finally have the bf back-a week is actually quite long when you’re all on your own.

How was your weekend?

I don't just want, I NEED...

Well this is what I’m telling myself about the following products (I'm not sure my bank account would agree):

MAC Face & Body

I have seen so many posts/video’s about this over recent months and have convinced myself that I MUST own it. I even went to my local MAC counter only to be told that they only sell it in MAC stores-boo to that! I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and order online (although I’m a little nervous as I’ve never had a MAC foundation before so have no idea about what colour to go for).

Benefit Hoola bronzer

I already have this however I am hitting pan so treated myself to the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder and I do like it, but I want my Hoola back!

Illamasqua Cream Blusher

I’m not sure what colour I want but I really want a cream blusher and have heard lots about the Illamasqua one’s so have convinced myself that next time I’m near a counter I shall be treating myself.

MAC 188 brush

To apply my new cream blusher (obviously).

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Already I’ve read so much about this palette and I’m determined to get one-if anyone knows of anywhere where it’s in stock, please I’d love to know!

Nars Multiple in Turks & Caicos

This looks so bright in the pictures but I’m assured after reading Holly’s post that it looks gorgeous on.

Model’s own nail polish

There are so many colours to choose from I just don’t know what to go for-have you got a favourite colour you want to recommend??

What’s on your wishlist at the moment?
