Blwyddyn Newydd Dda (Happy New Year)

2010 will soon be gone and 2011 will bring a fresh new year for us all – YEY to that!

I just wanted to wish all of my beautiful followers a very happy and fabulous new year and I hope you all have a fantastic 2011-I hope it brings you everything that you are hoping for!

I also wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for taking the time to read my little blog – it really does mean an awful lot to me! I have made some fab friends this year through my blog and on twitter and I really am grateful for being able to have this experience!

So, on to 2011 it is and, although I haven’t made my new year’s resolutions yet – I hope it’s going to be a year of change (in a good way)!

Happy New Year!

Christmas 2010

Well hello there lovelies – I do hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.

I had a great one- just as planned, lots of lovely presents, family, friends and most importantly FOOD (I’ve seriously eaten far too much this Christmas-enough for a small family).

I just thought I’d share with you some of the lovely gifts that I was very lucky enough to receive (and a few of my favourite bits):

Marc Jacobs Perfume: Lola & Daisy

NARS Multiples giftset- 3 mini multiples in:
Orgasm : A pink/peach with shimmer
Luxor : A pink shimmer
Malibu : A brown pink

An assortment of DVD’s (many would argue that I don’t have the best taste in DVD’s but I love a good old chick flick $

2 Lauren Conrad books:

An assortment of Lush products:

The gingerbread house: Candy cane bubble bar; Gingerbread house bubble bar; Cinders bath ballistic & Li’l Lush pud bath ballistic.

Snow Fairy gift set: Shimmy Shimmy glitter bar, Angel’s Delight start soap, Snow fairy shower gel

Individuals: Christmas Eve bubble bar; The Böög Bath Bombs; Bearded Lady Bubble Bar

In all honesty, I’m not really a bath person but I think with all the products above I’m going to have to start indulging in some me time!

And my favourite present – my new diary! My Mum had this personalised for me which was very nice and it’s a lovely diary, small enough to fit in to my handbag without getting in the way. But the part of all, when I opened this on Christmas morning, in each page was a crisp £20 which totalled up to £500 – WOW! In 2011, I am planning on going to Oz to visit one of my best friends, so this was a gift to start my saving - I was literally gobsmacked!

I hope you all got lots of lovely gifts and enjoyed your Christmas!

Merry Christmas

Today is Christmas eve ( which I'm sure you are all fully aware of) and I was sat here thinking of my Christmas  traditions and how my Christmas day usually goes and thought I'd share with you all (and then you can either do a similar post or leave me a comment with your Christmas day story-I'm very nosey).

Last year I spent Christmas with my boyfriend Scott at my nanna's place in Canada-and although I was with family and it was snowy etc, it just didn't feel the same-so this year, I made a point of staying home to do the norm, which is....

Up quite early, although this year I'll be at my home (not the parents because I moved out this year) but I'm planning on getting up extra early to head down to the parents house to do present opening-Santa doesn't know my change of address so everything will be there you see ;-)

Once presents are opened, we all get dressed and head up to the cemetery to spend a little time with my elder brother.

Then it's back home to go round to our neighbours, it's a very small village where everyone knows everyone so we do some present sharing and end up at Aunty Linda's (not a real Aunty but my mum's best friend)! She usually has a house full with 5 kids, although the youngest us now 17 we still all act like little children today filled with excitement!

Back home for Christmas brekkie (which us when Scott will join us)-this is where the real Christmas stuffing commences! It's the one day where I can not stop eating and not have a shed of guilt!

This is where my 'normal' Christmas ends this year. After brekkie we will be heading over to Scott's sisters to say our merry Christmases to his side if the family then home to have our first Christmas din dins on our own!

I really am looking forward to it this year!

I wish you all a very merry and safe Christmas-hope you have a truly fab one!

Lots of love XX

Cosmopolitan Blend Perfection Sponge

I’ll be honest-I have never used a sponge to apply makeup before, but after seeing so many reviews of the beauty blender I caved and decided to try for myself, but rather than spend £14.50 + VAT, I decided to give the Cosmo version a go, a steal at £4.99 (purchased in Superdrug).

So what is this sponge all about? Well, the idea is that it’s more of an ergonomic shape which allows you to create an flawless, airbrush-like finish when applying your make-up. The sponge is shaped with a pointed end so you can get in to those nooks and crannies which you can’t really do with the traditional sponges.

I think we all associate sponges with applying foundation, but I’ve found this sponge is very good when applying cream based products – especially cream blusher.

I’ve really enjoyed using this sponge and mainly use it after I’ve applied my foundation (with my 187 brush) just to smooth everything out.

Have you tried this sponge before? Any thoughts?

A spot of shopping...

Over the past few weeks whilst out Christmas shopping, I may have treated myself to a few little bits for the Christmas period J

New Look: Both these tops are exactly the same-just different print and I absolutely love them! I’ve been wearing them pretty much non-stop recently with a vest underneath and skinny jeans! (Both were £25)

I love the birdy print on this one

I bought this blazer today – I nipped in to New Look just to get a few basics and this was on the end of an isle looking very lonely! It’s very thick and perfect to throw on for a night out! And a bargain at £7.

River Island: I have been on the lookout for a Christmas day knit for ages (I really wanted a red jumper with a reindeer/snowflakes on it for the festive period) but couldn’t seem to find anything out there that I liked (or was in my size). But today I found this lovely chunky knit cardi in RI, and with £15 off, I couldn’t resist J (£24.99).

Have you bought yourself any sneaky treats whilst Christmas shopping this year?

Weekend 012

I think I must start this post with a HUGE apology to all my readers - I have been very absent recently :-( I have been having quite a few issues in life generally and it's just left me very down and I've had no drive to do anything!

But, I have decided that enough is enough and I need to get my butt in to gear and sort the things I don't like!

I finish work tomorrow until the 5th January so I will have lots of free time to myself over the next few weeks and I have a list of posts that I'd like to write but I thought I'd start my return with my weekend post.

Friday: I had a day off as I was off to London for a girly weekend with 2 of my best friends. Arrived in London mid afternoon and headed off to the House of Commons for some afternoon tea (my friend Bethan worked there so we went to see some friends) then headed off to Laura's to drop our bags before going out for dinner at Chimichangas - yummy!

Saturday: Today was spent on Oxford Street - I know, crazy and that's exactly what it was! Luckily I wasn't there after anything specific as I have done most of my Christmas shopping so I was able to just go with the flow! Laura was singing in Selfridge's with her choir 'The Dukebox Singers' so we ended our afternoon on Oxford Street there to join in with some Christmas songs. The evening was spent at the theatre watching Legally Blonde which was absolutely fantastic-Sheridan Smith was brilliant, I'd definitely recommend it!

Sunday: I headed off to Soho this morning to meet one of my bestest Uni friends for a spot of breakfast at the Breakfast Club which was just scrumptious! Then it was off to Euston to catch the choo choo train back to North Wales.

I had a fabulous weekend full of gossip and laughter-exactly what I needed after the past few weeks!

I have spent this week (so far) getting my Christmas tree and new decorations and I just can't wait to get the house decorated now!

How was your weekend?
