So, it's been and gone...

For another year and only 363 sleeps until next Christmas (yes, I do love it)!

I really do hope that each and every one of you had a fantabulous Christmas and that you got everything you wished for! I had a lovely day (even if I was full of cold and suffering like a big baby) and received some lovely gifts that I wanted share with all you lovelies! Now I know not everyone likes these kind of post, but me, well I just love them! I am soooooooooo nosey and just love seeing what everyone else got, and I know there's others like me out there so I thought I'd encourage your noseiness and share my little pile with you!

I really didn't ask for much this year-I didn't actually need much, but there were a few things on my list that I was very lucky to have received!

*Apologies for the quality of photo's - my camera charger is down at the parents place and I keep forgetting to grab it, so I am making do with my phone camera*

Pandora (see below) | Crown Cushion (because apparently I think I rule everybody in my family) | Sirius Skin Sonic (see below) | Obligatory Lush gift box (Stardust) Little Women Cloth bound book | Just Dance 1,2 & 3

Pandora Sterling Silver Heart Ring

Pandora Single Weaved pearlised bracelet & a little Turtle charm - so cute!

Sirius Skin Sonic - review to follow

Toms - unfortunately these were the wrong size so they are on their way back so the right size can be sent back out to me!

There were a few other bits like pj's a smellies - but these were the majority of my presents as most people just gave me money-too fussy to buy for apparently! I love everything that I got and I am very grateful to all my friends/family and bf for all their lovely presents - I hope they liked what I bought them just as much as I liked mine!

Link me to your posts on what you got for Christmas, as I said, I'm very nosey and can't wait to see :)

Dermalogica: Renewal Lip Complex

Back in the October Glossybox, there was a few Dermalogica products, which I totally fell in love with, but one product in particular really has become a favourite of mine and I'm going to have to purchase the full sized version, and that was the Renewal Lip Complex!

I suffer all year round with dry lips, and in the winter, it's pretty awful. I have tried so many different lip balms/ moisturisers over the years, but nothing really does anything - nothing like this has done anyway!

Unfortunately, it was only a teeny tiny little tube in the Glossybox (1ml) but it has lasted me since October, although granted I've only been using it regularly more recently but I am very slowly running out :( which makes me so very sad!

This is definitely a product that I will be repurchasing. I've found it for about £16 on-line, which I wouldn't usually spend on a lip product, but, it really has worked wonders on my horrible dry lips!

Have you tried this before? Did you like it?

Origins Super Spot Remover

Hello there my lovelies,

Now I'm pretty sure we can all agree, spots are just not welcome, whenever they decide to pop up!

In all honesty, I don't suffer very often with spots, but when I do get them, I tend to get the massive ones - you know the kind, the ones that pop up at the most inconvenient time!

I'm always on the lookout for that miracle worker, and after reading Anna's post, I was sold! Whilst perusing the beauty hall in Selfridges, I stopped at the Origins counter and picked up this little miracle worker!

Typically, I didn't have any spots at the time, and I think it was the first time I've ever actually wished for a spot to pop up so I could try this out (strange I know), but sure enough, a few little nasty's have popped up and I got to give this a go! I have had it in my handbag since I bought it and use it as soon as there is any sign of a spot popping up and I can honestly say, since buying it, I haven't had a full on spot!

I'm not saying this will work for everyone, it's difficult with skin care, what might work for you, might not work for me. But I have been very happy with this little purchase. It costs £12 for 10ml, which does sound a lot, but you use the tiniest amount of product that this will last for quite some time I'm sure!

Have you tried this? Do you have a miracle worker you'd recommend?

Christmas Cookie

Just a quickie - I know that a lot of people have this already but I wanted to share my little treat that I picked up this weekend!

I know it's Christmas and you really should be treating other people, but I have been wanting to join the 'Yankee Candle' gang for a while now and once I took a whiff of this, I was sold! It has been burning non-stop since Saturday when I got it (obviously I blow it out when I go to bed or leave the house, but I'm sure you get what I mean)!

I definitely recommend going and giving this a good old sniff if you get the chance :)

I got the small jar which was £5.25 in Debenhams

Weekend 049

I apologise for the lack of posts recently - I am so busy with work and having a social life that at the moment, I just can't seem to find the time! Hopefully things will settle down a bit soon!

Anyway, I thought I do my weekend post (even though this should of gone up a few days ago)!

Friday: After finishing work, I jumped in the car and headed down south for my first installment of Christmas with all my Uni girls (and their partners)! We haven't all been together for some time now so this is one hell of a special Christmas - plus it's our first Christmas with a little edition to the group (in the shape of a little boy called Otto)! Aftere 3 and a half hours, I had arrived at my destination to be greeted by the following picture:

Yey! I''m going to be a God Mummy - I've never been one before and always said to my friend that I'd say no if she asked, but I just couldn't - I love the little mite soooo much! After a quick bath, feed, burb and then bed for Otto, I quickly followed!

Saturday: Up early to prepare all the veg for our Christmas din dins before the rest of the group arrive! Once finished, we headed off for a mooch around the Tree Barn on Christmas Common - how much more christmassy can you get!

Back home to get the festivities in full swing, complete with Mr Buble's Christmas album to get us in the mood! Like a true Christmas day, we ate soooooooo much food, opened Christmas pressies and had a bit too much to drink!

Sunday: Today was a long day! Up early again for the rest of the group to head off on a Boxing Day walk - apparently this is normal? I on the other hand stuck to my tradition and stayed in my pj's for as long as I could before heading off to join the rest of the group for a pub lunch! It was then time to make the journey back home! Unfortunately it's not to my own home, but to my parents as I will be spending the week here whilst my parents are in New York (alright for some)! Ah well, at least I have this to keep me warm!

I hope you all had a good weekend too - I am planning on having a very lazy weekend this weekend coming which involve just staying home and decorating my own house - It's killing me that I don't have my tree up yet!

Weekend 048

Well this weekend has been probably one of, if not the best weekend of 2011 (so far, there's still a few to go)!

My weekend started a little earlier this week so here goes...

Thursday: A half day in work and then a quick train journey (or not so quick) down to the big smoke is how I started my weekend this week! My friend from Oz is leaving on Monday (toady)-so we all headed down to London for one last weekend together (well, until the next time she's home)! We started off by heading to the Piccadilly Theatre to watch Ghost which was just incredible! I would highly recommend! I watched the film for the first time last week and wasn't that blown away, but the musical really blew me away and left me a teary mess by the end! We were very lucky, as my friend lives with the 'subway ghost' from the production, we managed to get amazing seats at a fraction of the price-really was a treat! We headed on home after a quick one in the pub with the cast and ended up staying awake for hours just talking and giggling like a true girly sleepover!

Friday: As one of the girls headed off for a day of work, the other 3 of us decided to head on out for a spot of brekkie then for a quiet morning/early afternoon at the cinema to watch 'My Week with Marilyn' which was absolutely brilliant! Michelle Williams did a fantastic portrayal of the beauty that was Marilyn Monroe! We then headed off for a tour of Westminster - I have done this on a number of occasions as my friend used to work there, but we did it once again and it really is such an amazing building - it's so fascinating listening to all the stories and history of the building! We then ended the evening in a bar/club 'Guanabara' which was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! It was a night full of eating/drinking and salsa dancing! Back home for another late night of chatting/giggling -I think it's a given when girls get together for a sleepover that it's going to end in giggles :)!

Saturday: Another early start, but this time it was to head on off to The Diner in Soho for a big hearty brekkie before we hit Oxford Street! I have no idea what was going through our minds when we decided that it would be a good idea to do Oxford Street on a Saturday, but it's safe to say that we didn't get much done - far too busy for my liking!

We started off in Selfridges to catch my friend kick off the christmas season with some amazing songs with her group 'Elle and the Pocketbelle's' - they will be in Selfridges every Saturday during the Christmas season singing on the 2nd floor and I would highly recommend giving them a listen if you're in store!

Christmas lights on Oxford Street

Then it was time to say goodbye and head on home - it was a teary goodbye at the station with my friend who's heading back to Oz as we don't know when we'll next see her, but we really did have a fab weekend together!

Sneaky Lola's cupcakes to make the train journey home a bit more bearable!

Sunday: Compared to the past few days - today was pretty blah - I have done nothing except lounge around! We headed on down to my parents house for some take-away as they are heading off to New York next Friday (not jealous at all) and then back home for a very early night!

Hope you've all had a fab weekend too! Only 3 more weeks left in work before I break up for the Christmas break - fingers crossed they go very very quickly!

Bio Sculture Gel Nails: Round 2

As you will know, I recently dabbled in to the world of gel nails and, well I think it's safe to say, I fell in love!

I've never really been one for nails - I always used to bite them whilst I was growing up, and it's only in recent years that I starting to take any notice of them! After seeing so much about the 'gel' nail craze that's been going around, I decided to investigate locally and found a lovely little salon and I thought, 'why the hell not-go treat yourself'! Well I did and they were amazing! They lasted 3 and a half weeks without chipping (bar one nail that I actually put in the way of my zip) and my nails have grown so much!

Well yesterday, I headed back to the salon to have them soaked off and a new snazzy colour put on!

I went festive - I couldn't resist when I saw this very subtle glitter colour - it had to be this one!

There's even a bit of extra glitter added to my ring finger :)

I also had my toes done too - a bright pink colour! Well, hardly anyone's going to see my toes at the time of the year so I thought why the hell not!

*Apologies now for my foot picture-I know not everyone likes feet but I love the colour and wanted to share*

Weekend 047

Friday: I've already done a separate post on my Friday evening which you can read here - but in a nutshell, I treated myself and bestie to afternoon tea, which was just incredible!

Saturday: Today was a pretty lazy day - I headed on down to the rents for the afternoon to help them with last minute plans for their upcoming New York holiday (not jealous, at all-I promise)! I live my the sea, and have spent all my life living by the sea (bar the few years I spent in Bristol for Uni) and if I'm honest, I really don't appreciate it as much as I should, but this afternoon, I grabbed the dog and headed on out for a stroll along the beach! It was absolutely glorious-the weather was bloody marvelous for November, and it was just how I like it, hardly anyone there!
The evening was spent like most Saturday night's are these days - watching Xfactor and complaining about how crap it is this year!

This is the lighthouse feautured on the Dulux Ad from this Summer :)

Sunday: Today was a day for spending quality time with my besties! As I've mentioned before, one of the besties is currently living in Oz, so whilst she home on holiday, we took full advantage and spent the whole day just catching up, watching old video's (actual video's-couldn't believe that people still have video players) and finally getting round to watching Ghost! I had never seen Ghost  until last night *cue shocked expressions*, but I will be watching the West End version this Thursday with the girls so figured I had to watch it first. I love girly days-it was definitely a perfect way to spend a Sunday!

Hope you all had a fab weekend too! I can't wait for next weekend as I'm off to London for some more girly fun!

Tea for Two

This afternoon, I treated myself and my bestie who is home from Oz for a few weeks to a spot of afternoon tea!

I have never been for afternoon tea and it is something that I have wanted to do for a while now, and after seeing  a deal on my local Travelzoo for an opportunity to go to an amazing hotel (Oddfellows, Chester) and have the experience, I snapped it up (we all know I love a good bargain)!

Anyway, I wanted to share a few snaps with you as the 'pantry' where we ate was absolutely amazing!

Pretty Chester all dressed up for Christmas

A bit of bubbly to start

There were finger sandwiches on the bottom tier but I was far too excited and ate them before I got snapping !
THE most delicious brownie I've ever tasted!

Amazing quirky decoration

 Giant chairs-Alice in Wonderland Style!

All in all, it was a perfect start to the weekend and will definitely be doing 'afternoon tea' again!

Travalo Bargain Alert

Now I am sure you've all heard about the Travalo - the refillable travel atomiser. It's been around for a while now and every time I see a post, or a video about it, I tell myself that I don't NEED it!

Well I do! Let's face it, it's a pretty nifty idea and I'm sick of carrying around damn perfume bottles!

Anyway, on to the bargain - whilst perusing the ailses of play.com for my secret santa gift that I need to get, I found the Travalo for a bargainous £5! Part of the Secret Santa gift sorted and, it would of been rude not to get one for myself now!

There is only the black version available for £5 - but black goes with everything :)

Hope you're all having a good week - nearly the weekend now!

Bio Sculpture Gel Nails: Week 2

As promised - here's my week 2 update on my bio sculpture gel nails!

I am still absolutely loving them - I thought I may be sick of the colour by now, but I just love how perfect they are!

As I mentioned in my last post, my next appointment is on the 21st and I'm getting my toe-nails done too - can't wait to pick out some new colours!

Hope you all have a good weekend - I'm feeling very poorly with tonsillitis again (2nd time in 2 weeks) so I will be spending the weekend curled up on the sofa!

Weekend 044

Friday: Today was spent in work, finishing early as usual on a Friday - we never work past 3:30pm if we can help it! Then off I headed up the hill to visit one of my besties who has come home from Oz on a month long holiday-she came home as a surprise to her parents, and boy did she succeed! I only saw her in Aug/Sept when I went out to visit but it's so lovely to catch up again and a few hours were spent with a cuppa (or 2) in front of the fire catching up on all the gossip that has gone on since we last saw each other!

Saturday: I spent most of the day with my parents planning their itinerary for their upcoming trip to New York (cue a very jealous Cat)! They have offered to pay for me to join them and my little bro, but as my lovely car decided to fail its MOT and cost me a massive amount of money, I can't justify going with no money :(
The evening, like many I'm sure, was spent watching the local bonfire and fireworks display! I absolutely love fireworks - they're just so magical! The display I went to is one I haven't been to for years, and it was pretty nice to spend the evening with my friends reliving our youth on the fairground rides and eating candyfloss :)

Sunday: I felt really poorly today-I had tonsillitis last week and although that has gone, so has my voice and today I've just felt very bleurgh! So, cue lots of tea, a quilt on the sofa and cuddles with the bf-just what the doctor ordered (oh and chinese takeaway for din dins)!

Hope you've all had a fab weekend and had a lovely time seeing the fireworks!
