A creature of habits

As the title suggests, I am a creature of habits - when I find something that I like and that suits me, I buy and buy and buy and this is exactly what I have done recently so I thought I'd share a few of my recent buys with all you lovelies!

Jersey print dresses - George @ Asda, £10 each

Primark - £8 each (appologies for the creases - they were in the carrier bag all night)

Bow pumps - Primark, £6 each

Topshop - £18
River Island - £16.99 each (although I got the one on the left for £10 in the sale)

I love everything I have bought recently, just wish the weather was better so that I could wear them without freezing my butt off!

Do you buy things in multiples of colours when you find something you really like?

A treat for your hair

As I'm sure you're all aware, vo5 have recently re-launched their whole range, complete with amazing new packaging!

Whilst perusing the isles of my local Sainsbury's, as you do, I was greeted by a vision of pink and white and was instantly drawn in to see what these colourful delights were.

I picked up the 'revive me daily' shampoo & conditioner and I can honestly say I am so happy with them both!

They smell absolutely amazing - my whole bathroom was filled with a gorgeous sweet smell as was my hair - every time my hair swishes I get an amazing waft of sweetness!

They have also left my hair so soft and I think best of all, they are currently on 2 for £4 in Sainsbury's! I'm not sure how long the offer is on for, but I shall be stocking up for sure!

NARS Multiples

For Christmas I was very lucky to receive the set of NARS multiples that came out in the holiday collection.

The set included:
♥ Copacabana
♥ South Beach
♥ Orgasm (pretty much my favourite colour)

What is a NARS Multiple: It is a cream to powder stick which can be used in a multiple of ways - it can be used as a blush, highlight, eye colour, lip colour or even on the body - it really is up to you!

I have been using these products for months now and can honestly say I really like them. They blend perfectly and can be used for a sheer glow of colour or can be easily be built for a more intense colour. I haven't really used them for anything other than blush, but that works for me! As they are the mini size, they are the perfect size to pop in my handbag for when I'm on the move and in need of a little pick-me-up!

Orgasm is such a beautiful colour - a cult colour which I'm sure you're all aware of. Copacobana is a perfect highlight colour too and would definitely recommend it. South beach gives a lovely subtly glow to the skin.

I think the only issue I have with these is the shimmer - there is just a little too much for my liking, but I can look over that when all the pro's of the product are considered!

All in all - I would definitely recommend giving the multiples a try.

Glossybox #1

Well what a treat I received today! Now I'm sure you've all seen lots of lovely posts about the arrival of Glossybox & I know that so many people signed up to receive one for May but I couldn't resist doing a little post about the wonderful little goodies that were in my box.

I was awoken by my postman nice and early this morning and rather begrudgingly got out of bed to answer the door-usually I would let them leave a card and stop at the post office later but today I got up and boy am I glad I did as what he had in his hand was a beautifully packaged parcel!

I cannot get over the packaging - it's just so pretty! These boxes are definitely ones to be kept as storage boxes (and will go perfect in my dressing room)!

So, on to the goodies inside:

Included was:
♥ Full sized NARS Orgasm Illuminator
♥ All for Eve - Eve Red Lipstick
♥ Bionova Lab Bioactive Cleanser for Normal/Dry Skin
♥ Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Rapid Repair Spray
♥ COMO Shambhala Invigorate Body Lotion

As you can see there are so many lovely products in this little box of treats and I can wait to get using!

I will hopefully do some reviews on the products & let you all know my thoughts on them!

I hope you've all received your Glossybox today too (if you ordered one that is)!

Weekend 026: Birthday fun

So last weekend I didn't do my usual weekend round up - to be quite honest, it was a bit of a blah weekend and I did nothing at all worth writing about, but this weekend has been completely different as it was my birthday! I turned the ripe old age of 25 on Friday (yup - the 13th) and have spent all weekend celebrating!

How cute is this little piglet from the ice-cream farm?

Friday: Today was my birthday and excited is an understatement! I dunno about you, but I absolutely adore birthdays - this is the one day out of the whole year which is all about you and you get presents, what's not to love! I turned 25 today, and although I was feeling a little out of sorts about it, I kind of figured that it's inevitable that I'm going to get older - I can't stop it so lets just embrace it! And lets face it, my car insurance should be a little bit cheaper now lol! Today I had breakfast in bed, which consisted of croissants and bucks fizz and then I opened my presents (which I shall show in a separate post)! We then headed on out for a day of fun in Liverpool! I mainly got money for my birthday so off I trotted to spend my ££ on lots of lovely little treats! As a birthday treat, we had a late lunch at Jamie's Italian - I am actually a little bit in love with Jamie Oliver so I was very excited to eat here and boy what a treat it was! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was perfect (and I very rarely comment/tip on service but this was impeccable)! We then headed home to see my Mam & Dad - I haven't seen my dad on my birthday since I was 19 (he works away during the week) so it was a real treat to sit down and enjoy time together on my birthday!

Saturday: Today I awaited the arrival of 2 of my Uni friends who were coming up to celebrate with me! We spent the afternoon catching up over chippy chips (they did travel to the seaside after all, it would be rude not to let them have the whole experience) and curled up on the sofa watching 'No Strings attached' which I would highly recommend if you're ever after a true rom-com!
We then got ourselves all dolled up and headed on out for dinner with some of my home friends and my friend who moved to Sydney was home to join us too! It really was a brilliant night of good food, a few drinks and lots and lots of laughter!

Sunday: Today has been very lazy - a looooong lie in followed by bacon butties and cups of tea! We then headed on out to Snugburys (is an ice cream farm near me which has amazing ice cream) for some ice cream before then set off on their journey back down south! My afternoon has pretty much involved lying on the couch catching up on blog posts I've missed over the weekend and deciding what to have from the curry house - brilliant way to end a brilliant weekend!

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend too!

Saturday, 7 May 2011

So I am wandering on over to bloglovin to keep up to date with all of the lovely blogs I follow - mainly becasue blogger has let me down quite a bit recently not showing up posts, unsubscribing me from blogs so I've fallen out with it!

I have only started playing with it last night and already I'm quite impressed with it - seems easier to navigate and cleaner to read (if that makes any sense)! You can Follow my blog with bloglovin too, but I think you can follow any blog whether they're registered on there or not (correct me if I'm wrong)!

If you have any hints/tips on using it, anything I should know, please let me know!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and the weather doesn't ruin any of your plans!

A box full of treats

After months of watching Ingrid's video's of the Birchbox treats she receive's every month, I am very happy to find that there is something very similar here in the UK - Glossybox!

Image taken from the Glossybox website

If you're unfamiliar to what these lovely box of treats are, they are basically a monthly subscription with which you receive a box through the post with 5 travel sized samples of well known brands. The subscription is £10 (which is a little more than I'd like to pay, especially as Birchbox is $10 in the US, but hey ho)!

I love this idea - it's a perfect way of trying out new things without having to spend the full amount on a product which you may never actually use ). I am planning to blog about my first glossybox experience and hopefully do some reviews on the products!

When you subscribe, you are asked to fill out a survey on your beauty habits/ personal attributes i.e. eye colour/ hair colour etc. From this, your box will include products which are specific to your survey, so everyone's box may differ (however this won't be introduced for a few months yet)!

I have seen on the Glossybox facebook page that they are actually sold out of May Glossybox's but any subscriptions placed now will automatically be put on the June distribution list.

Will you be treating yourself to one?

p.s. You can cancel the subscription at any time.

Remembering Loved Ones

Just a quick post as I wanted to share a lovely poem that I have remembered for years and years and find it somewhat comforting on days like today.

Today sees the 14th anniversary of when my best friend lost her long battle with cancer. Justine was absolutely amazing - for someone so young to have such an awful thing happen, she really didn't let it get her down and carried on with life as best she could. She was diagnosed when she was 3 and told she only had months, but in true Justine fashion, she battled on until she was 10.

She really has been an inspiration in my life, and even today, 14 years on, I remember her for her smile, determination and wicked sense of humor! She achieved so much in her short happy life and that really does make me happy!

Those we love don't pass away
They walk beside us everyday
In our hearts their memories are kept
To love and cherish and never forget.

Weekend 026

Well another 4 day weekend has graced us once again and how lovely it has been! I hope you've all enjoyed it and had time to enjoy the lovely weather we've had yet again! Here's what I got up to this weekend.

Friday: I am pretty sure my friend resembles most peoples day today - settled in front of the television watching history happen right in front of our eyes and what a sight it was! I think we can all agree that Kate looked a true Princess on her wedding day - truly breathtaking! I spent most of the morning welling up but who doesn't get emotional at a wedding?!

I couldn't resist - it was the moment we all waited for (after the reveal of the dress of course)

Saturday: Well I had a pretty rubbish day today! The bf was an idiot last night (went out, got drunk, came home very late and woke me up, fell over blah blah blah) so I was very tired this morning when I got up this morning! As he was extremely hungover and in no state to do anything/ talk, I decided to take myself off to my parents house for the afternoon and just relax in the sun! Luckily my Mam & Dad were heading off to Ikea for the evening so I took the opportunity to join them (I love Ikea and really enjoy mooching round the little show rooms they have, plus it would make the bf sit alone at home longer planning on how he can make things up to me - I sound like a real bitch but there were other things that he did that I really don't think you want to hear about, but trust me, he's got some making up to do)!

Sunday: Today, has very much been a day of nothingness. I had a lie in, had some brekkie, headed off for a bit of shopping in Asda and then I've spent the evening watching this years Masterchef on iplayer (yes I know I'm way behind) and drinking copious amounts of tea! Oh what a rock n roll life style I lead!

I hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday - I am very much looking forward to the next few weekends as it's my Birthday on the 13th (25 this year - it's a little scary) but I have lots of gatherings planned and one of my bestest friends in the whole world coming home from Oz for it :-)!

Speak soon lovelies!
