Why do we pack so much?

When packing for my hols (boy, that seems like it was ages ago) I thought I was being very restricted on what I packed! After coming home and realising what I actually used, it makes me wonder, why do we pack so much?

Now, I'm sure I'm not alone on this whole over packing business! Anyway, I thought I'd do a post on what I actually used whilst on my jollies!

Day:

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer: Medium; Benefit Hoola Bronzer

The weather in Oz wasn't amazingly hot - it is coming out of their winter in to spring, but it was warm enough for my british skin! I didn't really fancy clogging my skin up, so during the day, I swiped on a bit of concealer under the eyes (I can't subject anyone to my under eye circles, that would just be mean) and a slight dusting of bronzer (due to the lack of summer we've had, I was a little pasty)!

Evening:

MUA Heaven & Earth Palette; Benefit posetint; No7 eye mousse: Vanilla; MAC Cremesheen glass: Boy Bait; 17 lipstick: Beehive; Concealer & Bronzer as above!

I didn't really go out much in the evening, just a few evenings out for dinner so kept it very natural! As you can see above, a total of 7 products is all I used!

I love the eye mousse - I use this nearly everyday as an eye primer and I find it to be excellent! I also use it as a highlight too! They do other colours which obviously wouldn't do so well as a highlight, but the vanilla is very good indeed! It's £9.00 but I bought mine with the No7 vouchers that ALWAYS seem to be around which brings it in at £4.00 - very good size for travelling!

I'm also loving this lip combo! I think I've mentioned before, I'm not the best when it comes to lipstick - no matter how hard I try, I have very dry lips and lipstick does not look good with dry lips, I'm sure we can all agree on that! I have to admit, this lipstick by 17 doesn't look too bad because the formulation is so moisturising and sheer, but I just feel the need to pop a lip-gloss over the top-probably because I've done it for so long!

Do you over-pack and find you use less than half the products? Please tell me it's not just me?

  6. I always pack lots of makeup and skincare. It's just because I can't predict what would I need. What if I feel in the mood for a red lipstick? Or a bright pink blusher? I always end up buying something... I'm awful!

  15. HAHA well it's good to know that even when you pack light products still go un-used! I think we'll just have to resign ourselves to the fact that we'll always overpack! You've got me wanting a khaki green colour now - I shall be looking for this in my local boots! X
