Weekend #25

Friday: Tonight should have been an early night as an early morning awaits tomorrow, but true to form, a last minute panic about packing and present planning meant I didn't get the early night I was hoping for - does anyone else do this, leave everything to the last minute?

Saturday: Early morning as promised to head to my local Asda for panic buying of presents - I know, sounds so lame but with the puppies etc I haven't had time to even think about presents let alone go out and buy any, so a good old gift card and little added bits would have to do (thankfully they were very well received)! After a well earned McDonald's breakfast warp (mmmmmmm I'm drooling just thinking about one) it was time to head down South for a weekend of fun with my Uni friends! We had a lovely day just catching up, drinking lots of tea and planning our 30th's (quite a few years yet for me, but some of the others are only next year)!

Sunday: Today was for a very special little man and the day I became a God Parent (for the first and last time). The day was absolutely lovely, and the Christening was quite fun; the Vicar threw in quite a few jokes and sarcastic comments in to his service. We spent the rest of the afternoon stuffing our faces on sandwiches and cake (lots and lots of cake) before making the long journey back up North.

It's safe to say I'm pretty shattered after this weekend but I wouldn't have it any other way - I love seeing the girls and spending time with my little man.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend too!

Shopping my stash: Benefit Erase Paste

I have re-decorated my dressing room recently and had a good old sort out of my make-up stash (don't you just love a good sort out)!

Due to this, I have started using a few old products and have been wondering, why the hell did I ever stop using them! So, I thought I'd do a little series of post on each one to show you what I've been loving, and you never know, it may remind you about a certain product too!

The first products is Benefit's Erase Paste.

So what does Benefit say about thisThis concentrated, creamy concealer brightens and camouflages in one easy step! Targets dark circles, discolouration and imperfections. Three shades with brightening melon undertones to suit every complexion. Comes complete with a fully illustrated, step-by-step lesson and mini-spatula for easy application.

Price: £19:50

Shades: 3 - fair, medium & deep (I have medium)

My thoughts: I love this product - I really don't know why I stopped using it. It's a gorgeous creamy consistency and works perfectly under my eyes. I've mentioned before that I suffer terribly with dark circles under my eyes, it looks like I haven't slept for weeks on a daily basis (which to be fair, I feel like that at the moment with 9 puppies), but this product works wonders.

I've used the usual suspects over the years, Laura Mercier Secret concealer, Bobbi Brown Creamy concealer, and they do work, but just not as good as this.

It comes with a little spatular, which to be honest, I threw away pretty much as soon as I got it - I just pop my ring finger in a warm it a little on the side of the tub, and then gently blend under the eye, going from the inner to the outer corners.

I don't often get blemishes, but, if I'm completely honest, I don't think this works particularly well on them when they do appear - I'm happy to keep this all for my under eyes.

This has been a godsend over the last week trying to look somewhat presentable in work! I don't think this will be going back in the drawer - I think I've found my holy grail concealer for under eyes!

Do you shop your stash often?

Weekend #24

Well I'm afraid my weekend post this week will be nothing short of just puppy talk.

On Tuesday, our gorgeous chocolate lab, Fudge, had a litter of 9 pups. It was such a manic day with a 5:25am wake up call, puppy after puppy, one having to be revived with Jack Daniels (she's doing fantastic now), and a vet visit for a c-section.

But mum and all 9 pups are all doing absolutely fantastic and growing by the day!

So, as my weekend revolved around puppy feeds every 2-3 hours with a little bit of sleep thrown in, I figured it was pointless to just go through each day and instead, just show you some puppy pics - who doesn't love pictures of puppies!

I have posted quite a few on my instagram if you want to see daily pics (I'm obsessed with taking their pictures)!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Review: Panache Lingerie

Growing up I was never blessed in the boobage department - I was actually quite flat chested for the majority of the my teenage years, then I went to Uni and they just developed - I'm definitely a late bloomer.

As the years have gone on, they have just grown and grown (and are still growing-surely this should have stopped by now?) and I have found myself on many occasions cursing for wishing for bigger boobs - especially when it comes to trying to find nice, sexy underwear. For some reason, lingerie departments seem to think that only women with a C cup or less wants to be sexy and have nice underwear, anyone over a C wants something that Nora Batty would be proud of!

When I saw the lovely Beth from Panache tweet about an opportunity to try out lingerie from Panache, I was very intrigued to see if they were able to provide lingerie that was practical for a larger bosom AND be pretty - and that's exactly what they sent!

So who are Panache? To be completely honest, until I saw Beth's tweet, I had never heard of Panache so did a bit of digging on their website to see what they were all about.

What it says: Panache, an award-winning British lingerie company, has built its reputation on 3 core values: Fit, Support and Comfort.Dedicated to fit and specialising in D plus lingerie, Panache is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of perfect fitting lingerie.

They sell lingerie (including bridal sets), swimwear and sportswear and are available in department stores and online via Very - there's more details on their website.

I received the Cleo set which as you can see, is a lovely vibrantly coloured set. The quality feels fab and the fit is just perfect - no digging in or feeling like I've got ten tonnes of material holding me up! The collection looks pretty lovely and I will definietly be treating myself to a few more sets.

Have you ever tried any sets from Panache?

(An Overdue) Weekend #23

Apologies guys - this post is very much overdue but it's been one of those weeks! My gorgeous choc lab had her litter of puppies this week so I have been all over the place with emergency trips to the vets, 2hourly puppy feeds and a lot of sleep deprivation! I hope you don't mind me popping this up - I didn't want to break the flow of getting one up every week!

Friday: Tonight was a very quiet one for the bf and I – he is off to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks in the morning so it was a relaxed and early night tonight for a 4am wake-up call so we grabbed some takeaway and caught up on the Great British Menu finals week – so rock n roll I know!

Saturday: After the 4am wake-up call, I decided to have a much needed lie-in before heading out for my friend’s wedding dress fitting – as my bridesmaid duty, I have been tasked on the day to button her up, so this was my opportunity to observe (including have some fun picking out lovely wedding dresses with the other bridesmaids)!
Saturday evening was a very emotional one for me – it was my last time seeing Westlife (I know, I know)! I have been religiously every year since they began touring and I’m not ashamed to say, I have enjoyed every single bloody concert! So tonight was an end of an era for me, 14 years all over with. It was a fantastic way to end though, brilliant concert and fantastic songs as always!

Sunday: Today was a very lazy day – I didn’t get out of my pj’s until 3pm! All I had to do today was dog watch. My choc lab is due to have puppies any day now so she’s on constant surveillance – hopefully I’ll have puppy pictures next week to share – so damn excited!

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend too – I wish the lovely weather would hurry up and come back!

Weekend #22

So, thanks to the Queen, we have been graced with a lovely long weekend here in the UK to celebrate 60 years on the throne - and how marvelous that has been (I love the queen and am loving being British at the moment-Britain is a lovely place to be right now, minus the rubbish rain)!

Anyway, on to my weekend jaunts...(is that the right word, hmmm not sure)

Friday: Friday night was spent with the girls - after a bloody long week in the office (listening to the most self-obsessed person all week long), a night out was definitely needed so we headed off to one of the locals for yummy food and band night! The band was a bit rubbish and the average age of the place was probably 50, but a good night was still had having a good old catch up!

Saturday: Today is a day I have waited for for a long time - wedding dress shopping! Not for me I should add, but for one of the besties. Now, I say I've waiting a long time for this as I am obsessed with anything wedding! Remember the episode of Friends when Monica get's out her book of wedding plans, or when she's on the headset for Phoebe's wedding, yup, that's me! And, of all my friends who have married recently, even when I was Maid of Honour, I have never had the opportunity to go dress shopping as I've been too far away-but not for this one! It was such a lovely day, and I'm not going to lie, tears were shed! I tried to sneak a few pics as the other two besties from the group are in London and Australia so I wanted them to enjoy the experience too, but got caught on a number of occasions - it is frowned upon to take pictures, oops!
The evening was spent curled up with an M&S dine in for 2 and Sherlock Holmes 2 - I can honestly say I was exhausted, and I didn't try a single dress on!

Sunday: The bf and I headed in to Chester today for a spot of mooching and to spend M&S vouchers on the softest bedding ever (it's like silk)! Whilst there, we headed to one of my new favourite places to eat, Hickory's Smokehouse where the food is served in camping tins, on wooden chopping boards and you get a mop to glaze your own ribs - LOVE IT!
I finally got around to finishing Desperate Housewives this evening and I have been inconsolable - I have cried so bloody much with it all-if you've watched it, you'll know what I mean (the bf doesn't quite get it)!
All in all, it's been a love weekend, which is set to continue for the next two days as we continue to enjoy the extra bank holiday we have!

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend too!
