This week, I was very lucky to be invited, along with some lovely bloggers, to the new Next Home & Garden store in Warrington.
The new store was built after a fire left half of the previous Next store damaged. The fire meant that the store needed to be rebuilt, and well, they didn't just rebuild the existing store, but they've pretty much doubled, with half being clothing and the other half being home & garden (joined together with a Costa in the middle).
I have to admit, I have quite the love affair with Next - from the clothing all the way to the homeware, and now I can throw in garden - this store for me is a day out in itself, I could literally spend hours in it!
We started the day with a walk around the new home & garden section with the lovely Jo, who explained all the different trends that are being sold and how old trends have evolved over the years.
This new store is absolutely full to bursting with all things home and garden, including all the bits you need for those DIY moments (complete with how to guides on their website - all very girl friendly) and an instore home design service. I absolutely adored the fact that they had plants ready to go-all you needed to do is buy a pot big enough and pop them in, no faffing around with getting your hands dirty (my kind of gardening).
Who doesn't want this at the end of their garden - I know I do for sure!
Our final task at the store was to be let loose with some vouchers which were kindly gifted to us by the Next PR Team (thank you very much) and find ourselves a treat - not such an easy task with so much to see, but I finally settled on a new pouffe/cube for my lounge - very practical indeed!
We then headed off to The Cotton's Hotel & Spa to be thoroughly pampered with a treatment or two in the spa (a back, neck and shoulder massage was just delightful) and afternoon tea - what more could you want?! Well, Next thoroughly spoilt us rotten with a parting gift in the shape of a goody bag (which is a bag in itself which I'll showcase in an upcoming post soon).
I had a wonderful day (not bad for my first event) and really enjoyed hearing the background to the collections and seeing the new store in all it's glory - it was lovely to hear how passionate Jo was about the brand, and her enthusiasm for the garden section may have just inspired me to get a little bit more green fingered (although chances are I'm going to be purchasing the ready made pots more than anything but it's a start). Thank you very much to the Next team for inviting me and for organising such a lovely day.
If you live in or around Warrington or ever up North then I would highly recommend popping in (although I doubt one could ever just pop to this store quickly with so much to see). The new store is located on the Gemini Retail Park (right opposite Ikea).
