Moments That Mattered

Well Happy New Year – I’m never too sure at what point do you stop saying that. I am sick of starting emails in work with ‘Happy New Year’ but when it’s the first time getting in touch since being back it feels rude not to!

Anyway… ramble over – hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and have settled back in to the new working year, I know I’m only just settling in.

I had a lovely break from work over Christmas (nearly 3 weeks in fact) and finished it off with a wonderful trip to Centre Parcs with some of my bestest friends for one’s 30th Birthday – it’s scary that we’ve started the roll of 30th birthdays in our group! I’ve got a few years yet but I’m sure it’ll soon be here!

Anyway, I saw a post over on the lovely Lucy's blog with a competition being run by Lloyds bank to have a look back on 2013 and share your 'Moments That Mattered' which I thought was a great way to start the new blogging year (plus there’s a chance of winning an iPad mini so who’s not on board with that)!

I wouldn’t say 2013 was a particularly fantastic year, I’ve had better but I’ve had worse. Nothing spectacular happened but I did have some pretty awesome times along the way which I wanted to look back on:

2013 started pretty well with one of my oldest friends tying the knot in a pretty wonderful winter wedding – it was so lovely to be a big part of her special day and it really was a fantastic ‘do (even if it was bloody freezing)!

I did my ‘annual’ lambing day which was a few more than just the usual day this year as we’d had quite a bit of snow so I helped out a few more times – I love doing this every year and can’t wait for lambing to start in 2014!

How cute does he look????

April saw 2 little bubba’s arriving in my world – 2 of my closest friends had little girls on the same day, same time and same weight, just 1000’s of miles apart (one was in the UK and the other over in Sydney)!

The summer brought my annual Wimbledon trip which was THE BEST EVER this year with Centre Court tickets, 3 rows from the court, to see Murray reach the final – the atmosphere was just incredible! Even better that the tickets were only £10!

Who doesn't love a bit of photobooth action | Murray in action

Then came Christmas and a wonderful trip down to the Capital with the other half!

2014 looks set to be a very different year with a hopeful move down South, new job (keep your fingers crossed) and a wedding (not mine)!

I hope your 2013 was a good one for you and I hope 2014 is even better still!

Speak soon xx
